Debra Hertz is highly competent at keeping a group moving forward. She listens, synthesizes, and redirects the group as and when appropriate. She is extremely knowledgeable about the nonprofit space, group process, current literature, and best practices in organizational effectiveness.  Debra is always prepared, process oriented, unfazed by discordant group dynamics, and provides accurate and rapid follow-up after meetings. In my work with Debra she is always professional, and keeps to agreed upon time frames for the project; she is an pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her.
Nancy Coughlin, Executive Director, Neighbor to NeighborNancy
Debra Hertz is a true professional. She has a unique ability to quickly identify and effectively assess an organization’s needs as well as strengths. Importantly, she presents solutions in a way that makes sense to those with a range of skills and experiences and in a way that can meaningfully be implemented. My Board of Directors came out of our recent retreat with a renewed sense of purpose and practical skills to bring our organization to the next level of nonprofit excellence. Everyone was duly impressed.
December, 2017:  I would like to thank you for helping to usher our organization through a difficult conversation. While I greatly enjoyed your presentation to the board last night, I must admit that I was skeptical about whether it would have the needed impact on our board members (i.e., would this be enough to change behavior?). As I said to you in the hallway after the meeting, “We’re about to find out!” Well we sure did find out, as soon as you departed the group decided that it was important to continue conversation about the difficult year we have had. Only this time there was a remarkable change in tone. Utilizing the ground rules you left with us, the board was able to have a respectful conversation about many of the issues that we have felt were left unresolved. We came up with action steps to help ensure we continue the work to make our board better. Everyone left the meeting feeling heard and emotions did not get in the way of effective and honest communication. Your magic worked! Last night was without a doubt the best board meeting we have had all year. We are carrying a new energy into 2018 that leaves me with a great deal of hope for our board, our organization, and everything we will be able to accomplish for our community. For that I am incredibly grateful to you. Thank you again for helping us through this situation. I hope we have many more opportunities to work together in the future.
