OPPORTUNITY

First Congregational Church of Darien is seeking a part-time Communications Manager to help tell the story of our church clearly, warmly, and consistently across digital, print, and community-facing channels. This position serves as a central communications partner, helping coordinate messaging, manage workflows, and ensure that church communications are timely, accurate, welcoming, and aligned with the church’s mission and voice. The Communications Manager will support the church’s social media platforms, weekly email newsletters, website, event promotion, community media relations and photo/video management. This role is ideal for a motivated, creative, organized, detail-minded communications professional who enjoys engaging community and storytelling.

A central goal of this role is to help the church communicate in a way that feels warm, joyful, outward-facing, and welcoming to newcomers. The Communications Manager will help translate internal church news, updates, events, and ministry needs into clear, compelling invitations for members, visitors, and the wider community. The Communications Manager reports to the Senior Minister and works closely with the full ministry team, church staff, and the Communications Committee Chair, a volunteer leadership role. Some in-office hours are required (specifically Monday mornings), though remote work may be possible for portions of the role.
